Rehabilitation after plastic surgery

A relatively short recovery period (1.5 weeks) will be needed after blepharoplasty. Cosmetic procedures for the face and body related to the category of minimally invasive interventions, including hardware rejuvenation, injection techniques, thread lifting, also differ in a short rehabilitation period – from 2 days to a week maximum.

In each individual case (rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, mammoplasty, liposuction, etc.), the final restoration of the body takes a different time.

This depends, first of all, on the nature of the intervention and the characteristics of the patient’s body: for some, the healing process of tissues takes place faster, for others it takes longer. For example, the body spends an average of 2.5 to 3 weeks to recover from liposuction.

The excellent outcome of any surgical procedure depends on several important factors, such as:

  • Professionalism of a specialist who completely eliminates risks during the operation.
  • The recovery period when natural tissue shrinkage occurs.
  • Strict patient compliance with the doctor’s prescriptions.

During this period, the patient without fail wears compression underwear. Special underwear will be required after gluteoplasty and breast correction with implants. The recovery period after mammoplasty can take 4-6 weeks. A month will be spent on rehabilitation after rhinoplasty, and you can see the final result of surgery no earlier than six months or a year later.

The consequences of any surgical interventions include: the presence of postoperative edema, cyanotic formations, hematomas. Often, after interventions, patients experience a decrease in tissue sensitivity. If the operation was carried out under general anesthesia, then after the operation, a feeling of nausea and dizziness is possible.

Any plastic surgery makes adjustments to the life of the patient. These include the rejection of bad habits (smoking and drinking alcohol) and various restrictions. After surgical interventions, you can not play sports, sunbathe in the solarium or on the beach, visit the pool, sauna and bathhouse. You should also limit physical activity, especially after operations such as mammoplasty, liposuction and rhinoplasty. The medication is indicated, among which antibiotics are mandatory.

After surgery, changes will also have to be made to the normal diet. Some face operations, such as a bishectomy (removal of Bisch lumps and correction of the mucous membrane) exclude the use of solid food – for some time you will have to switch to liquid food and mashed potatoes. Other types of interventions include mainly a lean menu; plant foods (any vegetables and fruits) and cereals are welcome. Allowed lean meats (chicken, turkey), fish.

To improve the digestive system, it is recommended to use dried fruits and drink plenty of fluids, which contributes not only to the elimination of toxins from the body, but also to more active tissue repair. Drinking plenty means plain, still water. Tea, coffee and sodas in the postoperative period are prohibited.

Instead of a conclusion

Once again, I want to remind all patients that the result of the operation depends not only on the professionalism of the surgeon and the internal capabilities of your body. Strict adherence to the recommendations of a specialist in the postoperative period ensures that you will be satisfied with the results of the intervention and not receive any serious complications. Understand: you, like a doctor, are fully responsible for the result of your transformation – you are on the same team.

Therefore, a lot depends on you and your willingness to obey the doctor. Do not hide anything, discuss all your problems with your doctor, do not break the regime and follow all instructions.
