A 2-Day Body Detox Program To Help You Cleanse Your Body Inside Out

Detoxing isn’t restricted to those looking to lose weight. A body detox is for everyone – the party goers, the health freaks, the athletes, the gym buffs, or the lazy couch potatoes. Just like spring cleaning, you need to cleanse your body of all the toxic food you have exposed it to.

You don’t need a mop or a broom for this “housekeeping.” All you need is a firm mind and a not-so-greedy gut to help you cleanse your body inside out! We find ourselves looking in the mirror and cribbing about the excess cellulite or excess fat in our body.

And then our first move is to rush into the newest diet on the block. But we need to pause and think. Just like how we prep ourselves for the grand lavish dinner buffet by starving all day, we need to prep our body before we go on a diet. We are not talking about tuning your mind; we’re talking about detoxing.

Remember that big giant-sized burger you devoured? Or the countless number of shots you drowned yourself in till you forgot how to count? Yeah, that’s the kind of stuff that needs to be cleaned out of your body. So, we have got you a detox diet that’s as easy as ABC. We can assure you that it’s not a mammoth task. Here’s your guide to a quick and effective 2-day detox diet. Let’s get to work (cleaning work)!

Day 1

Morning Drink: All you need to get your morning started is a good detox drink. Detox drinks are pretty much like flavored water but you need to make sure you flavor it with the right kind of ingredients. Combine half a liter of water with sliced grapefruit, mint leaves, cucumber, tangerine, and some ice. You can let this sit in the refrigerator overnight and relish it the next morning.

Breakfast: Indulge in a delicious blend of oats and chia seeds. This is a digestion booster. Take 2 tablespoons of chia seeds and mix with 3/4th cup of rolled oats. To this, add 1 cup of almond milk or coconut milk. Allow this to sit overnight and you’ll have a decadent breakfast for yourself.

Mid-morning Snack: It is important to snack on tiny portions between meals to keep your metabolism active. Snack on an apple today.

Lunch: We know salads can be a turnoff. Like pack-your-bags-and-hide-under-the-sea-in-a-pineapple (SpongeBob SquarePants) kind of a turnoff, but you only need to know how to ace it.
Here’s how you can make a salad out of the simplest ingredients: Toss about 12 almonds into a bowl. Add 5 cups of baby spinach, 1 cup of fresh berries, 2 carrots, 2 dates, and dress it up with olive oil and lemon juice. Refrain from using any other fatty salad dressings.

Evening Snack: Within 2-3 hours of having lunch, eat a small cup of veggies to keep the metabolism up.

Dinner: Keep it simple. Go for a bowl of vegetable soup. Don’t make it too spicy, but add a lot of veggies.

Before Bed: We know that midnight cravings are bad. To keep your tummy feeling full and to help you sleep better, sip on a cup of chamomile tea.

Day 2

Morning Drink: As soon as you wake up, drink a glass of ginger water with half a cup of lemon juice. You can add a teeny bit of honey if you like.

Breakfast: It’s smoothie time! We like a whole lot of greens in our smoothie because it really works on the stubborn fat and toxins in our body. Make a smoothie out of 2 celery stalks, 1 lemon, 2 kale leaves, a cucumber, some spinach leaves, some parsley, an apple, and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds (pre-soaked). Do not add sugar. (We never join hands with the enemy.)

Mid-morning Snack: Nibble on a handful of nuts. It should keep you active and full. Also, it’s loaded with nutrients.

Lunch: We are going to reverse the order today. It’s soup time for lunch. Make yourself a veggie soup with your favorite vegetables.

Snack: An apple a day keeps the doctor away, right? So, grab one for the evening snack.

Dinner: This is the last meal of your detox, so make it count (the calories, we mean). The best way to satiate your hunger and keep watch on the calories is by eating salad. So, make an avocado salad: To a cup of spinach, add half a cup of avocado. To this add one-third portions of red onion, half a cucumber, a carrot, and about 8 almonds. Add one cup of sprouts (of your choice), parsley, and 1 tomato. Now, add 1 cup roasted chicken breast (yeah, this is the star ingredient). Finish it off with lemon and olive dressing.

Before Bed: As you would have successfully completed the detox, pat yourself and sip some chamomile tea.

At the end of the 2 day detox routine, you will not see the magic numbers on the weighing scale, but you will feel refreshed and lighter. Detoxifying helps you reboot your digestive system, so go ahead and reboot it before it freezes in the dungeons of toxic fat.
