Only a specialist should prescribe treatment , since self-medication increases the risk of side effects and can lead to complications. With uncomplicated peptic ulcer disease, reflux esophagitis (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, you can take any of the drugs. If pathologies are complicated by Helicobacter pylory, then only Omez is suitable because of its antibacterial properties.
Kvamatel suitable in cases where there are bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract. But you need to remember that this medication does not help stop bleeding, but only reduces the risk of complications with this pathology.
When choosing a product, many pay attention to the cost. Prices for these drugs vary slightly, for comparison: 28 tablets of Kvamatel 20 mg each cost about 150 rubles, and 28 capsules of Omez 40 mg each cost 250-280 rubles. As you can see, the cost depends on the number of tablets (capsules) in the package and the amount of active substance.
It is also worth noting that Kvamatel can depress the attention and speed of the psychomotor reactions of a person, therefore, those who drive a car or engage in activities that require increased attention and reaction should not use this tool. In this case, it is better to use a second medication, since it does not have this negative effect.
Patients with peptic ulcer and increased acidity of the stomach are supposed to take special medications. They neutralize the effect of acid and protect the mucous membranes of the digestive tract from ulcerative erosive damage. This article describes and compares the two most effective antisecretory drugs.
Kwamatel

Comparison
Kvamatel and Omez have the same effect – antiulcer and reduces the secretion of hydrochloric acid and pepsin in the stomach. Therefore, medicines have similar indications for use. But, despite this, the means have differences – this is due to different active substances. In Kvamatel it is famotidine, in the second medication omeprazole.
Also, medicines have different forms of release. Both Kvamatel and Omez are available in the form of tablets (or capsules) and solutions for the preparation of droppers (infusions). But Omez is additionally in the form of a suspension for the preparation of an oral solution. It is also worth noting that droppers with these drugs are used mainly in a hospital setting.
A feature of Omez is its antibacterial effect. The active substance of the drug effectively destroys Helicobacter pylory and protects the body from re-infection. Squamatel does not have such a property; therefore, it is not practical to use it to eradicate bacteria.
The action of Kvamatel occurs 1 hour after administration, a maximum of 3 hours. The duration of the effect depends on the dose taken ( 12-24 hours ). But the effect of Omez occurs after the same amount of time, but continues throughout the day. Therefore, the second drug is taken once a day, which reduces the risk of side effects and overdose.
Patients with cirrhosis should use Quamatel with caution and adjust the dosage if necessary. The use of the second remedy for this pathology does not require dose adjustment.
Kvamatel is absolutely contraindicated for pregnant and lactating women, but Omez can be used during pregnancy, but only according to strict indications and after the benefit / risk ratio.
According to studies, Omez is more active in suppressing the synthesis of hydrochloric acid and is better tolerated by patients.
