Adele’s Weight Loss And Body Transformation Secrets

Over the years, fans have noticed a slight but stunning transformation in her style and her body. No, she doesn’t want to be a zero figure and loves her body. However, she wants to be healthy.

And that’s precisely why we are taking you through Adele’s lifestyle and how you can lose the weight minus the fuss. Read on!

“I don’t make music for eyes… I make music for ears.” Yup! That’s the bold, multiple Grammy winner and Academy Award winner Adele for you. The curvy songstress dropped her first album when she was 19, and in 2011, her second album “21” was released, which became the biggest selling album of the 21st century!

Adele’s Body Transformation – How It All Started

Adele’s noticeable slimmer body was revealed in 2012. However, let us go a little back in time and see where it all began.

In 2009, Adele revealed to the Daily Mail that her weight never really bothered her. She said, “I have never been insecure, ever, about how I look, about what I want to do with myself,” and then went on to say, “My mom told me to only ever do things for myself, not for others.”

She had also told the People, “I’d lose weight if I was an actress and had to play a role where you’re supposed to be 40 pounds lighter, but weight has nothing to do with my career. Even when I was signing a contract, most of the industry knew if anyone ever dared say lose weight to me, they wouldn’t be working with me.” So, what really happened that prompted her weight loss?

Well, the busy schedule that Adele has is very demanding and exhausting. In December 2011, Adele had to get admitted to the hospital to get her vocal chord operated. And at the Brit Awards in 2012, she looked quite slimmer. However, it was not clear whether the restricted diet in the hospital triggered her weight loss. Soon after, Adele gave birth to her son, Angelo, with her partner Simon Konecki.

She took a break from the spotlight as she was busy being a mom. However, at the 2013 Grammy Awards, she looked stunning and shapely in her red floral dress. She started working for her next album that got released in 2015. And by this time, she was also touring to promote the album. And that’s when she decided to lead a better lifestyle. How? Find out next.

Adele’s Weight Loss Diet

Adele is a true Brit. And she loves sugar in her tea. She spilled the beans on how much sugar she’d consume in a day. “I used to drink 10 cups a day with two sugars in each so I was on 20 sugars a day. Now I don’t drink it and I have more energy than ever.” Point noted! First, cut down on sugar. What else?

In 2016, it was revealed that Adele was following the Sirtfood Diet created by her fitness trainer Pete Geracimo. This diet allows the dieters to consume kale, turmeric, green tea, and buckwheat. These foods are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, dietary fiber, and minerals that help boost metabolism, flush out toxins, cleanse the colon, build strong immunity, and help shed fat.

In fact, some people have lost about 7 pounds in just 7 days following this diet. Her nutritionist, Jennifer Irvin said, “She’s eating a really clean diet, with lots of fruit and vegetables, plus lean protein and complex carbohydrates.” So, what about her workout routine? Here’s what she does to keep herself active.

Adele Weight Loss Workout

Adele trains with her trainer, Pete Geracimo. And she does grueling circuit training, weightlifting, and cable machines to keep herself in shape. But she is brutally honest about not liking to work out in the gym. In an interview with the Mirror, she said, “I don’t enjoy it. I do like doing weights. I don’t like looking in the mirror.” She also said, “I’ve never had a problem with the way I look. I’d rather have lunch with my friends than go to a gym.” In fact, she told Vogue that she wanted to build some stamina before her tour, and that’s why she needed to lose weight and follow a healthy lifestyle.

So, the bottom line is, she lost weight for the right reasons – and that is to get fit. The next big question is, how can you improve your fitness and body composition? Here are some really helpful tips:

How Can You Get Fit?

Here are the ways you can get fit:

  • Get your body moving. If you don’t like going to the gym, go for an alternative form of workout like running, dancing, swimming, etc.
  • If you have a desk job, get up and take a walk every hour.
  • Walk to and from work or school/grocery store.
  • Toss out all the junk food from your pantry.
  • Fill your kitchen cupboards and refrigerator with veggies, fruits, eggs, cheese, full-fat milk, lean protein, legumes, nuts, dark chocolate, olive oil, and ghee.
  • Keep a journal to keep track of your progress.
  • Sleep for at least 6-7 hours per day.
  • Take a break from your mundane daily routine and go on a trip.
  • Learn new skills so that you do not feel stuck in a box, which can often lead to stress.
  • Make it a habit to keep being fit for as long as you have the physical and mental strength.

It is tough to follow a certain routine and especially workout in the beginning. But believe me, if Adele could do it, you can too!

2017’s Grammys were written for Adele as she swept 5 awards and looked stunning! And I’d say it’s not because of the diet she followed, but because she feels confident and beautiful in her own skin.

Clearly, you do not have to be a certain size – but you sure will feel good about your progress and feel fit when you start eating healthy and workout regularly. Get into the habit, and you will know what I am talking about. Be fierce and bold like Adele. Take care!
