Midokalm and Diclofenac, the choice of drug

Based on the reviews of those who used both drugs, it follows that Midokalm is not recommended for use in the presence of pathologies of the cardiovascular system, as well as with a tendency to sharp changes in blood pressure when using steroid medications.

The choice of drug should be made by the attending physician, depending on the location of the focus of the pain syndrome. Additionally, the drug includes lactose compounds, stearic acid, talc, silicon dioxide, contributing to the rapid penetration of the active substance to the site of pain.

Indications for the use of “Midokalm”:

  • CNS lesions that provoke muscle hypertonicity (various forms of myelopathy)
  • Muscular dystonia.
  • Musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Forms of chondrosis, arthrosis, accompanied by muscle spasms.

The drug relaxes the striated muscles, as a result of which the sensation of pain is eliminated. Of the contraindications, it is worth noting only the possibility of an allergic reaction to the components of the drug. Appointments for use for the treatment of children older than three years are possible.

“Midokalm” can be combined with the use of sleeping pills, anti-inflammatory, painkillers.

The release is carried out in the form of injections or tablets with different concentrations of the active substance.

The attending physician draws up a treatment regimen individually for the patient. When prescribing tablets, the minimum dosage should be at least 150 mg / day. In the absence of a therapeutic effect, the dosage is increased, but always after consulting a doctor. The use of “Midokalm” in an intravenous injection, the dosage is not more than 100 mg / day, intramuscularly – not more than 200 mg / day. Intravenous administration is carried out by the drop method.

The drug “Midokalm” is approved for use in pregnant and lactating women, but when taking into account the risk / benefit for the fetus (child), mother.

Overdose “Midokalmom” is excluded due to the high therapeutic threshold of exposure to the body. The effectiveness of the drug does not decrease when taking alcoholic beverages.

The drug “Diclofenac”

The drug “Diclofenac” refers to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The drug has a wide range of effects:

  8. The postoperative period for injuries of the eyeballs, including at the end of laser vision correction.

The drug is prohibited for use if diseases of the gastrointestinal tract are detected, including ulcers, gastritis of chronic and acute form, erosion of the mucous membranes. Diclofenac is dangerous for people with bone marrow diseases, allergies to the components of the drug, pregnant / lactating women. Children are allowed to prescribe the drug no earlier than from the age of six.

The release is carried out in the form of injections, ointments, drops, suppositories and tablets with various concentrations of the active substance.
The therapeutic effect is better achieved with intramuscular administration of the drug. For adults, the recommended dosage should be no more than 150 mg / day. Injections can be done either once or in several sessions per day, the main thing is not to exceed the dosage. For children, the dosage is calculated by weight – not more than 2 mg / kg. The duration of treatment is determined solely by the attending physician.

Diclofenac is part of other drugs aimed at treating inflammatory processes: Voltaren, Naklofela, and Ultrafena.
