Sialor or Protargol, the choice of drug

Sialor and Protargol have good reviews, but also negative ones. There are representatives who are of the opinion that due to the fact that silver ions are toxic, it is dangerous to use these drugs. However, there is no research evidence of the dangers of drugs – only speculation. The main thing is to follow the instructions and apply them only for the intended purpose and strict prescription of a specialist.

The issue of appointment can be solved by individual intolerance to one of the drugs.

Nasal congestion causes a lot of problems. It is impossible to do anything when there is not enough air all the time and you have to breathe through your mouth. In such situations, you can apply nasal drops, which contribute to relieve swelling and reduce inflammation in the nasal mucosa. Most often, doctors prescribe Sialor or Protargol. Which one is more efficient and more reliable?

In each case, it is possible to prescribe one or another drug:

  • Because of its convenience, Sialor is prescribed more often than Protargol. After all, you can cook the first yourself.
  • For those who do not use drops, Sialor spray is suitable.
  • People with weakened immunity will be prescribed a milder Sialor.
  • With a combination of rhinitis with other ENT diseases, Protargol will be prescribed.
  • When working requiring precise care, Protargol will not be prescribed (due to possible drowsiness).
  • Sialor will be prescribed in order to prevent diseases of the nasolacrimal canal.
  • If it is impossible to instill frequently, it is better to use Protargol.

Sialor and Protargol consist of the same active substance – colloidal silver. Even in ancient times, this metal was used as a fight against infectious diseases. Medicines containing its particles were used in treatment until antibiotics appeared. Colloidal silver has regulatory approval as an antibacterial antimicrobial agent. Few doctors and researchers agree with this, but, nevertheless, it is still used in medicine.

In fact, Sialor and Protargol are analogues. However, some differences affect the choice of one of them. What are they? And when and what to use?
