Ultop and Omeprazole, the choice of drug

Doctors do not give general comments about which of them is better. They argue that any medicine is selected for each patient individually, based on the characteristics of his body, symptoms, medical history.

The pathology of the gastrointestinal tract affects a huge number of people of all ages.

For the effective treatment of acid-dependent diseases, various medications are used that correct the acidity in the gastric juice. The most popular among such funds were Ultop and Omeprazole.

Common similarities between means

The drugs in question are complete analogues of each other, since they contain the same active substance. They have similar indications for normalizing the digestive system, have an identical effect on the body, and therefore successfully replace each other. Available in the same dosage form. They are also both banned from admission to persons under the age of eighteen.

Comparisons, differences, which is better to choose

Despite the great similarities between them, there are still differences:

  1. Manufacturer. These drugs are released to the pharmacological market by different companies. Ultop refers to Slovenian drugs. Omeprazole has domestic and foreign production.
  2. Price category. The cost of Ultop ranges from 121 to 517 rubles, which is slightly higher than the cost of the second tool, the price of which is from 25 to 150 rubles.
  3. Manufacturing technology. Ultop has more degrees of purification, therefore it is the safest and less likely to cause side effects.
  4. Additional components. Ultop is supplemented with sodium salt, sugar, starch, magnesium carbonate, sugar granules. The analogue contains glycerin, titanium dioxide, gelatin.

Both drugs have good efficacy, as confirmed by patient reviews. However, the advantages of Ultop somewhat prevail over its counterpart:

  • A small dosage is present.
  • Allowed for some liver diseases.
  • The action comes very quickly and lasts a long time.
  • Taking even one tablet will give significant relief.
