Having said all that, I can’t decide who I like more. So, I decided to make a list of things I love and things that I love to hate about Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt. Feel free to pitch in guys!
Bollywood is a world in itself and if you don’t have it in you to own this world, then you might as well pack your bags and leave. I am a fan of Bollywood and I have had my share of favorites. But, I am particularly intrigued by these two superstar kids- Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt- who understood the seriousness of showbiz early on in their careers.
Right from their first movies, they decided to own the show. The fact that they both belong to two different generations and different eras of Bollywood can’t be missed. But, they have both been an integral part of the film industry.
What I Love About Kareena Kapoor vs. Alia Bhatt
1. The Ultimate Face-Off: Pooh vs. Shanaya
Is it just me, or do you also think that Pooh was the original Shanaya? I think Pooh and Shanaya have a lot in common, don’t you think? (We’re not talking about Ranbir Kapoor) Pooh was all about herself and she believed in being over the top. And the best part is that she didn’t care about what the others thought. Shanaya was quite the same, except that she was sassier. I love the two of them for introducing me to these characters. It’s like watching the entire cast of Gossip Girl roll up into Pooh and Shanaya.
2. Kareena’s Self-Confidence vs. Alia’s Ability To Laugh At Herself
I have seen Kareena shut down talk show hosts and journalists with such sass that it’s a sight to die for. From owning very kind of outfit to voicing her opinion, she oozes out confidence. On the other hand, Alia is very relatable to most of us (I think I goof up like her all the time). She laughs at her own jokes, and what’s best is she laughs at herself when she is the joke of the day. Well, that takes a lot of courage! Remember her infamous Koffee with Karan quiz and the consecutive “Genius of the Year” video?
3. Alia’s Soothing Voice vs. Kareena’s Killer Thumkas
If I could sing like Alia, I would be on cloud nine. That soothing voice in Samjhaawan is definitely something I love about her. While Kareena may not be a singer, but she can definitely make you drool over her killer moves. From You are my Soniya to Taarefaan, she’s danced her way to stardom.
4. Kareena’s Self Obsession vs. Alia’s Selfie Obsession
I love how Kareena taught us that self-obsession isn’t a bad thing after all. Her famous dialogue from Jab We Met, “ Main Apni favorite hoon” is some serious inspiration for all the girls out there. Because, it’s important to love yourself, and more so, unapologetically. On the other hand, Alia is the chirpy, and quiet rockstar that believes in a subtler version of self-obsession, or what I call selfie-obsession. Her Instagram handle is full of wonderful selfies- makeup, no makeup, pet selfies, car selfies, workout selfies, well everything under the sun.
5. Kareena’s Unabashed Attitude vs. Alia’s Undeterred Attitude
Just like me (but ten times more glamorous), Kareena makes mistakes. And she has opted for some flop movies, but she unabashedly admits her mistakes and owns up for all that she has ever done. That’s just wow! Alia isn’t far behind in this aspect. She was trolled and mocked for the most part of her initial days in Bollywood. But she never stepped back. Her undeterred and undying attitude is something I adore.
What I Love To Hate About Kareena Kapoor vs. Alia Bhatt
1. Kareena Knows It All vs. Alia Ignores It All
Bebo may not be on social media but she has her eyes and ears all around the industry. She gets first-hand information about everything! That’s some tact, right? It’s a little different with Alia, who is a social media queen. She doesn’t seem to catch up on news that doesn’t deal with her.
2. Kareena Is Her Own PR vs. Alia Makes Everybody Her PR
This is something that has fascinated me and irked me at the same time. Kareena will herself tell you that she is amazing and that she is the best. She doesn’t need anybody else to do it for her. In this aspect, Alia is a little different. She has the whole word doing her PR for her. From Karan Johar to Ranbir Kapoor, everybody will tell you that Alia is amazing. C’mon guys, seriously, we know you all are friends and co-actors, give us a break!
3. Kareena’s Cat Fights vs. Alia’s Congeniality
While Bebo was infamous for her cat-fights with most of her co-stars (Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu), Alia is quite the opposite. That extra genial attitude is a little hard to digest. Sometimes it confuses me. She is friends with everybody on the block (I mean, c’mon, even after the ‘kat’s’ out of the bag)!
4. Kareena’s Online Absence vs. Alia’s Offline Intelligence
I hate that Kareena is so anti-social media. It’s nice to stalk your favorite celebrities you know?
Also, I hate that Alia’s so anti-general knowledge. Well, I know I am no one to judge, but I just like my favorites to be perfect.
Okay, let’s admit it, there’s not much you can hate about the either of the two. Kareena and Alia are divas in their own sense and they have ruled Bollywood with their versatility, glamour, and an envious set of skills. The reasons to love them will only keep increasing.
