It is available in the form of a suspension for intramuscular, intraarticular, periarticular, intradermal and intraosseous administration. The manufacturer notes that intravenous and intradermal administration is prohibited.
Sold in a blister of 5 ampoules of 1 ml. The average cost for a package of 5 ampoules is within 500 rubles.
What is common between the two drugs?
From a pharmacological point of view, these drugs are absolutely identical. It is based on a combination of a fast-acting and depot form of betamethasone – an artificial glucocorticosteroid. The effect of the drug begins 20-40 minutes after administration. The prolonged effect is achieved due to the microcrystalline fraction, which provides anti-inflammatory effect for up to 4 weeks.
Similarly, the content of the active substance in one ampoule: in terms of betamethasone contains 7 mg.
Betamethasone has a mild glucocorticosteroid effect, practically does not cause systemic complications in the form of a decrease in immunity. Due to its low activity, prednisolone is not addictive compared to the reference representative of GCS.
