Karsil or milk thistle, drug choice

Both drugs are dietary supplements, and not independent drugs. They are used as part of complex therapy and contribute to improving liver health. Medicines contain the same active substance – milk thistle fruit extract. Both products are available in capsule form. “Karsil” is also available in the form of dragees, and “Milk thistle” in the form of tablets and oil.

Due to the fact that the agents have the same active ingredient, they have a similar effect: they protect liver cells from damage, contribute to their recovery, fight free radicals and toxins in the liver. They also stop the inflammatory processes in the body. The drugs are used for hepatitis, cirrhosis, toxic liver damage. The drug “Milk thistle” is also prescribed for patients with fatty degeneration of the liver and impaired fat metabolism in the body.

A significant difference between these drugs are contraindications – “Karsil” has a lot more. It can not be used for allergies to components, gluten intolerance (since wheat starch is included in the tablets) and metabolic diseases associated with the absorption of glucose and lactose (since tablets and capsules contain lactose). Also, “Karsil” is contraindicated in children under 12 years old. The second remedy has no age restrictions, and it can not be used only with individual intolerance to the substances that make up the composition.

Karsil is produced in Bulgaria and is, in fact, a foreign analogue of Milk Thistle, which is produced in Russia. But European medicines are of high quality, so if possible, you should choose “Carsil”.

It is necessary to always take care of liver health and not overload it, otherwise serious pathologies may arise in it.
