Zistan: instructions for use

Zistan is a drug of herbal raw materials, since 1943, is widely used in complex therapy of urolithiasis and urinary tract infections. The drug prevents the formation of urinary stones (calculi), removes small stones, has anti-inflammatory action.

Botanicals Cystone have a complex effect on the body and contribute to the improvement of patients suffering from urolithiasis.

Complex of biologically active substances in the composition of the drug Zistan, has a diuretic, antispasmodic, italicise, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect.

Pharmacological action

Zistan regulates the crystal-colloid balance in dismetabolic nephropathy, prevents a glut of lithogenic substances, controls the absorption of diamid oxalic acid from the intestines.

Zistan slows down the process of the formation of stones by reducing the concentration in the urine of substances like oxalic acid, calcium hydroxyproline, contributing to the formation of stones. The drug increases the content of elements that slow down the formation of rocks (sodium, magnesium, potassium).

By acting on the mucin, Zistan contributes to the fragmentation of concrements, leads to a decrease in the content of them with mineral components, which facilitates their expulsion. The drug prevents the accumulation of particles around the nucleus of the stone, which prevents its further growth.

Litolitic effect of the drug is not dependent on urine pH. Stimulating diuresis and relaxing the smooth muscles of the urinary tract, Zistan promotes the excretion of crystals of oxalates, phosphates, urates and small stones from the urinary tract. Its anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic action relaxes ureteric colic and ease the symptoms of painful urination.

Doses for adults and adolescents

Interaction with other drugs

Zistan increases the bioavailability of norfloxacin.
