How to energize during the holidays

During the New Year holidays it is very difficult not to eat anything superfluous (especially if it is  “ nothing”  in large quantities presented on the holiday table). Cakes, sweets, pastries – how can I resist?

1. Eat less sweet

It’s not easy, but necessary – otherwise you risk spending your holidays in complete apathy.

The fact is that the abundance of sugar in the blood leads to an energy boom, which instantly turns into an energy crash. So if you really want to eat something sweet, it is best to immediately limit the serving size and the amount of sugar in it (dark chocolate is a great solution).

2. Try not to overeat

It’s no secret that after each meal, blood rushing to the stomach helps the body digest everything eaten. Such a rush, especially after a hearty dinner, makes us sleepy and exhausted. In order not to feel lethargic, try not to increase the usual serving size throughout the week and chew food very carefully – that is, slowly.

3. Do not eat late in the evening and at night

No, we do not urge you to go to bed on an empty stomach. We just advise: if the watch is already well past midnight, and the party is only gaining momentum, try not to lean on sweet and fatty foods (you really don’t need extra centimeters at the waist).

Nevertheless, fasting is also not an option – where in this case will you get the energy to dance until the morning? The solution, as usual, is on the surface: prepare a nutritious dinner for yourself and eat it before the party. So you rid yourself of the temptation to satisfy hunger with chips and other not the most useful snacks.

4. Sleep more

Agree, the anticipation of the New Year holidays is closely connected with the dreams of a full and relaxing sleep. And these dreams should come true, if you, of course, want to be full of strength and energy during the entire mini-vacation. Nevertheless – so that returning to harsh everyday life is not so painful – try not to violate your usual daily routine much.

5. Do not drink alcohol

Despite the fact that a hangover almost always precedes a fun and noisy party, there is absolutely nothing fun in it.

Headache, apathy, nausea and breakdown – do you really need this? It is unlikely that you will literally want to “throw out” a whole day out of life, trying to recover from alcohol poisoning. To save yourself from such a sacrifice, take it as a rule – one cocktail per evening. Not more.

6. Train

After alcoholic marathons and plentiful festive breakfasts, lunches, dinners, going to the gym will certainly seem to you a salvation. In order to cheer up and get a saving charge of endorphins, arrange yourself a full-fledged cardio training.

Turn the simulator pedals, walk on the step platform, run along the snowy city squares or grab your skis and go to the park – no matter what you choose, the main thing is to move.

10. Learn to say no

Who said that during the New Year holidays you should attend all parties, drink all alcoholic cocktails, eat all sweets and dine at all restaurants in the city? Be realistic and be aware of the consequences. And decide for yourself whether these consequences are worth a few moments of pleasure. If they are, then do not regret anything. And if not, then disagree.
