Clotrimazole or Exoderil, drug choice

Despite the effectiveness in treatment, the agents have differences among themselves, as well as their positive and negative sides. “Exoderil” is safer to use, since it does not accumulate in the liver and is rapidly excreted from the body. The greatest efficiency is achieved in the treatment of mold. It relieves the sensation of itching well.

The effectiveness of treatment is achieved by rapid absorption of the active substance with subsequent accumulation, therefore, the therapeutic effect after application lasts a long time. The drug can be actively used for the treatment of fungal diseases, their prevention (which is especially important for people who often visit public baths, saunas, pools, gyms, etc.).

The tool not only fights the disease, but also slows down its development and prevents it from appearing with prophylactic use. It is important to remember that treatment will be effective only with prolonged use of the drug – until a healthy nail is fully grown.

Exoderil can only be used on skin and nails.

“Clotrimazole”, in turn, perfectly treats nail and foot fungus, lichen, including is often used to get rid of vaginal troubles. On average, Clotrimazole is treated for about a month. After treatment, the use of the drug can be continued for prevention. It is used not only externally, but also intravaginally, since the drug actively fights local female foci of infections, inflammation and fungal diseases. “Clotrimazole” can be used to treat not only the skin and nails, but also the mucous membranes (oral cavity, vagina, etc.), which makes the drug a multifunctional more versatile tool in the fight against bacteria and fungi.

The drug is not so harmless, as it penetrates the bloodstream and can thereby affect every cell in the body.

Fungal diseases cause a lot of trouble to a person. When the first signs appear, a person tries to find an effective medicine for recovery as soon as possible. However, this is not always easy to do: drugstore shelves are bursting with an abundance of creams, ointments and gels, candles, and it is not easy to understand them. For example, dermatologists often advise their patients to purchase Clotrimazole or Exoderil. What is the difference between them, how effective and equally good are they in treating the same diseases?

Clotrimazole

The main function of the drug is the treatment of fungal diseases. It is applied topically. It has antibacterial, antiprotozoal, trichomonacid, antifungal effects. It is effective in controlling a wide range of microorganisms.

Clotrimazole

The effect of the drug is achieved by a violation of the synthesis of ergosterol : the membrane of the fungal cells becomes thinner and becomes permeable. As a result, potassium, phosphorus is eliminated from fungal cells, nucleic acids decompose. Further, oxidative and peroxidase enzymes cease to work actively, because toxins are accumulated in the cells of the fungus in such an amount that the cellular organelles simply collapse, and the cell itself dies.

First of all, the product actively fights against growing or multiplying bacteria. It can be used to treat diseases caused by dermatomycetes, as well as candidiasis, lichen multicolor, erythrasma, staphylococci, streptococci, gram-negative bacteria, trichomoniasis.

Only in exceptional cases are there varieties of fungi that are resistant to this drug. Primary resistance can be encountered with candidiasis.

The drug is hardly absorbed into the skin and mucous membranes. It tends to accumulate in dead skin cells. May be in keratin when applied to nail plates.

With intravaginal administration, no more than 10 percent of a single dose is absorbed.

The drug is easily and quickly excreted by the liver through feces. The drug is stored in the blood and vaginal secretions up to three days after application.

The tool can cause an allergic reaction in the form of itching and rash. Burning sensations, vaginal discharge, frequent urination, cystitis, soreness during sexual intercourse, redness in the oral cavity (when used in the oral cavity), burning, tingling, and irritation may also occur.

With an overdose of the drug, hallucinations, nausea before vomiting, gastralgia, improper functioning of the liver are possible, sometimes a feeling of drowsiness, hallucinations, an allergic rash.

The tool is effective in the treatment of diseases caused by dermatophytes (microsporum, epidermophyton, trichophyton), mold, yeast (such as Candida) and other mushrooms. Exoderil also acts on bacteria that can cause secondary bacterial infection. The anti-inflammatory effect of the drug quickly helps get rid of itching and signs of inflammation.
