Shani said she wanted the make up to look like she’d had a face lift, but made note that she was not promoting going under the knife. With nary a knife or needle, YouTube star Shani Grimmond revealed how you can completely transform your features to resemble a face lift
Armed with powders and brushes, Shani was able to change the appearance of everything from her brows and cheekbones to her nose and lips for this ‘after’ photo
‘My message will never change. If you want to do something with your body go ahead and do it, if you don’t that’s perfectly fine,’ she told her viewers.
‘We’re going to be having a little bit of fun. Make up washes off at the end of the day, so don’t take this too seriously – cause I know a lot of people take things very seriously these days.’
The Brisbane blogger began by giving her brows a high arch to make it look like they had ‘a bit of Botox in them’.
‘Using a brow pomade is the easiest way for a really defined brow,’ she explained.
‘I’m going to make my arch nice and high, fake it until you make it hun! And I’m never gonna make it, cause I’m never gonna get an eyebrow lift.’
‘But this is easy, because it washes off and doesn’t hurt.’
Shani used a brow pomade to define her eyebrows and applied foundation and concealer on her chin so it ‘comes out a bit more’
Shani also applied concealer under her eyes to ‘get rid of the purple tones’ and applied some foundation on her lips so the lipstick would stay true to colour
Then Shani put concealer all over her lids and ‘carved out’ under her brows to make them look ‘nice and defined’.
‘If I ever skip this step of carving out my brow it looks so messy, I love doing this,’ she added.
Shani then swiped bronzer in the crease of her lids to give the effect of a deeper socket’ and added primer to the center of her face. Then came a dab of foundation on the lips, which Shani said would help the lipstick stay true to colour without the red of her own lips interfering.
Shani then applied foundation as well as concealer under the eyes ‘to get rid of purple tones’, and used another concealer on her chin so it ‘comes out a bit more’. She applied the same concealer as well to her cheekbones to make them a bit higher and to make her nose seem slimmer – which she dubbed the ‘two-second nose job’.
Shani then contoured her cheekbones, blending upwards, to give the illusion of ‘deeper cheeks’ as well as around her forehead to make it appear a bit smaller She also added winged eyeliner, mascara, false lashes, and highlighter on her collarbone to complete the full look
Shani then contoured her cheekbones – to give the illusion of ‘deeper cheeks’ -around her forehead to make it appear smaller, and also the jawbone and chin to make them look more defined.
She then set her face and brows with powder and popped white eyeliner in her waterline to give the appearance of a ‘bigger, brighter eye’.
‘I personally have very little beady eyes, so this is a great little trick,’ she told viewers.
Then came the winged eyeliner, mascara, and false lashes.
‘In my opinion, lashes make everything look 20 times better,’ Shani said. ‘So much volume!’
The blogger then popped highlighter under her eyes to make the cheekbones look even higher, as well as between her brows and chins. Shani finished the look with some more highlighter on the cheekbones to make them pop and nude lipstick, leaving the outer edges dark to create the illusion of bigger lips
She then added blush to her cheeks to make them ‘a little more full and bigger’ and added bronzer on the edge of her nose so it would appear ‘more narrow’. Shani finished the look with some more highlighter on the cheekbones to make them pop and nude lipstick, leaving the outer edges dark to create the illusion of bigger lips.
‘I feel like it really has created an illusion of plastic surgery,’ Shani concluded after she added setting spray to the finished look.
‘The cheekbones look so defined, the eyes are pulled out this way, the lips are freaking huge right now, and I just feel like there’s just so much juice in the apple of my cheeks.’
And while it took quite a few products and tools, there was zero recovery time and not an ounce of pain.
